Troubleshooting: Authentication Failed

Troubleshooting: Authentication Failed

Problem
Canvas admins, teachers or students are presented with an "Authentication failed" message

Possible Solution(s)
  1. If you are new to Badgr and encounter this message, it typically means the Consumer Key and Shared Secret were incorrectly copied into Canvas when installing the LTI app.
    1. Reinstall the Badgr app and pay close attention to ensure the entire key and secret is pasted in the correct field.
    2. Ensure you are using the same email address in Canvas and Badgr when adding the app.

  2. If a reinstall still produces the same error, please contact our support team for assistance.
